Current Sensor Ics

Current Sensor Ics

These parts are in production but have been determined to be NOT FOR NEW DESIGN or LAST TIME BUY depending on current range, temperature rating, and package style. Sale of this device is currently restricted to existing customer applications. The device should not be purchased for new design applications because of obsolescence in the near future. Samples are no longer available. Date of status change: May 4, 2009. For the devices on LAST TIME BUY status, the deadline for receipt of orders is November 4, 2009. For existing customer transition, and for new customers or new applications, contact your local sales representative. Allegro is developing replacement devices for this product series, with an anticipated release date of December 1st. Only the following parts numbers will be offered as replacements: * ACS758ECB-200U-PFF-T * ACS758KCB-150U-PFF-T * ACS758KCB-100U-PFF-T * ACS758LCB-050U-PFF-T Customers should place LTB orders with their distributor to bridge their production requirements until the new devices are released to production by Allegro. Allegro suggests that you register to be informed of updates to this product page via the "Notify me when this product is updated" button below. Features and Benefits * Monolithic Hall IC for high reliability * Single +5 V supply * 3 kVRMS isolation voltage between terminals 4/5 and pins 1/2/3 for up to 1 minute * 18 kHz bandwidth * Automotive temperature range * End-of-line factory-trimmed for gain and offset * Ultra-low power loss: 100 ?Ω internal conductor resistance * Ratiometric output from supply voltage * Extremely stable output offset voltage * Small package size, with easy mounting capability * Output proportional to DC currents Description The Allegro ACS755 family of current sensor ICs provides economical and precise solutions for DC current sensing in industrial, automotive, commercial, and communications systems. The device package allows for easy implementation by the customer. Typical applications include motor control, load detection and management, power supplies, and overcurrent fault protection. The device consists of a precision, low-offset linear Hall sensor circuit with a copper conduction path located near the die. Applied current flowing through this copper conduction path generates a magnetic field which is sensed by the integrated Hall IC and converted into a proportional voltage. Device accuracy is optimized through the close proximity of the magnetic signal to the Hall transducer. A precise, proportional voltage is provided by the low-offset, chopper-stabilized BiCMOS Hall IC, which is programmed for accuracy at the factory. The output of the device will be valid when a current flows through the primary copper conduction path from terminal 4 to terminal 5, which is the path used for current sensing. The internal resistance of this conductive path is 100 ?Ω typical, providing low power loss. The thickness of the copper conductor allows survival of the device at up to 5? overcurrent conditions. The terminals of the conductive path are electrically isolated from the sensor leads (pins 1 through 3). This allows the ACS755 family of sensor ICs to be used in applications requiring electrical isolation without the use of opto-isolators or other costly isolation techniques. The device is fully calibrated prior to shipment from the factory. The ACS75x family is lead (Pb) free. All leads are plated with 100% matte tin, and there is no Pb inside the package. The heavy gauge leadframe is made of oxygen-free copper.
