PIT FURNACES Furnaces with a vertical-loading heating chamber (gas-fired or electrical) for treatments with or without a protective atmosphere.
In protective-atmosphere treatments the load to be handled is either placed inside a pot with a gas-tight cover inside the furnace or suspended overhead on a frame. The atmosphere is programmed and controlled by an oxygen sensor. Recommended for hardening, carburising, carbo-nitriding, etc. at temperatures of between 200º C and 1050º C).
