COMPANY PROFILE

In todays design conscious world, Artistics design philosophy is a combination of classical shapes, with a quintessentially English Twist, taking inspiration from our cultural heritage, whilst combining todays needs and style to produce beautiful bespoke furniture. Founded over half a century ago by Jim Mitchell who in the 1930 moved from the Scottish furniture town of Beith to the Midlands. Already an accomplished designer, having trained under the critical eye of his father, a highly regarded designer and maker of cabinet furniture, Jim settled in Nottingham, where he found work within the growing bespoke upholstery trade. Initially working as a cabinet and upholstery designer, it was not long before Jim started his own bespoke upholstery company. Today, Artistic is still a family owned company and its committed to maintaining the founding principles of excellence in bespoke design and quality production set down in the early years. Awarded the coveted Production Guild Mark by the Worshipful Company of Furniture Makers in 1998 in recognition of its high quality of production and manufacture.
