This filter housing is used between two kegs, usually 5 gallon cornelius kegs. CO2 is used to push beer out of one keg, through the filters, and into the second keg. If this set-up is being used to filter wine, nitrogen would be a better choice than CO2. All hoses are included. However, the kegs and all disconnects are not included.
The required filter pads for the plate are available in three types: coarse, medium, and sterile. Filters are always used in tandem: 2 of the same type. For example, 2 coarse filters would be used together. Begin with a coarse filtration, then repeat the process with medium filter plates before moving on to sterile filters. Beer will be crystal clear without using the sterile filters, and the sterile filters may strip out a little of the flavor.
