What is Micro TIG Welding?
Micro TIG welding maintains structural integrity with less residual stress. In addition, Micro TIG welding provides a longer lasting weld that requires minimal machining.
Micro TIG welding also facilitates the refinement of the welding process. When combined with small diameter welding wire (drop down to 0.005”), Micro TIG welding creates accurate welds while promoting efficient use of weld material. The weld takes place at lower temperature, thus minimizing metallurgical damage to the parts being welded.

The micro TIG welding system involves the use of high tech optics and lighting, which are critical in maintaining the extremely small arc gaps necessary for low temperature welding. The microscope and fiber optics also provide the ability to enter areas previously inaccessible to welding and allow the deposit of just enough weld material to make the repair. This system offers a platform for efficient pre-weld and post-weld preparations including in depth inspection and analysis of the damaged areas, elimination of surface contaminants and oxidation, removal of cracked or damaged material around the area to be welded, control in providing critical pre-heat and post-heat temperature, and the ability to produce a weld with minimal or no sink in the heat affected zone.
