COMPANY PROFILE

Buchmann UK was founded in January 2000 by WECO & Rodenstock veteran Barry Dibble, after the original acquisition of Rodenstocks capital equipment business in 1998. Briot, WECO and Rodenstock instrument products and services have been successfully distributed in the UK literally for decades, and the brand names and product range are certainly well established. More recently the Company has become a wholly owned subsidiary of Briot International, which is part of Buchmann Optical Holdings. The product ranges from Briot and WECO were successfully consolodated into the company in May 2007, leading to the company having a larger sales & support structure than ever before. Buchmann UK is the long established agent for the Magnon range of ophthalmic instruments, having been supplying these high quality products in the UK for more than 12 years. We were appointed as an agent for the high quality range of Reichert products in 1994. In September 1997 we became exclusive agents for Henson visual field analysers. In April 2002 we became exclusive agents for Breitfeld & Schliekert (B&S) products in the UK and Eire. Like us, B&S are a well established company having been founded in 1927 and growing to become a leader in their field today. The comprehensive B&S product catalogue covers some 12,000 or so practice accessories, components and small tools. In May 2007 Buchmann UK started distribution of Briot products throughout the UK and Eire. In September 2008 Barry Dibble stepped down from his role of MD of Buchmann UK to return to Rodenstock UK as CEO. The highly experienced sales professional Andrew Brandi from Topcon took over the role shortly afterwards. Buchmann UK resides in spacious modern premises close to Rochester Airports thriving technology centre, and within one hour s drive of all four London airports. We are half an hours drive from Ashford International train station and just a few minutes away from Chatham Connex South East train station. Prospective customers may view an extensive range of products in our large, well equipped showroom, where they will always receive a warm welcome. We also run regular courses in lens edging related subjects in our Buchmann Academy training facility, based upon specific customer needs.
