Olives, there are just a bewildering variety of types, origins, methods of production and methods of preservation; shrunken, black, salty and intense, or plump, firm, grass green and fresh tasting; stone in, stone out; hints of aniseed, hints of citrus; slightly sweet, sometimes slightly sour; the variations are seemingly limitless and, for many, quite mystifying. Consequently, over the years we have tried to build up a range of olives and marinades which simultaneously reflect this diversitAuberge Mixed Olives and spicesy while yet also keeping things simple.
Included in our range are a large number of fresh, unpasteurized olive/olive mixes, characterized by their vibrant flavours, bright colours and firm texture. However, we also offer classic Greek varieties including, of course, the smoky Kalamata. In addition, we stock stuffed olives, olives in differing marinades, even grilled olives. We should also point out that perhaps our most popular product is the fresh 'Auberge' Mix, four olive varieties in a marinade which is completely free of any additional flavouring whatsoever, thereby giving the customer the opportunity to create their own unique marinaded 'house' olive.
