Scott Crafton has held the position of Chairman, President, or CEO of CEC for 16 years and has more than 28 years of service at CEC. Mr. Crafton has previously held the positions of Vice President, General Manager and Engineering Manager at CEC prior to his acceptance of the post of President and CEO in 1991. Mr. Crafton is considered one of the worlds leading experts in automated aluminum casting processing and is listed as an inventor on 75 of the 84 U.S. and foreign patents held by CEC. He is also listed as an inventor on numerous pending patent applications. His manufacturing process patents and machinery designs have allowed casting manufacturers to save significant energy and costs.
In order to sustain profitable growth and continue to bring the newest innovations to customers, CEC supports a $1.6 million dollar in-house research & development department that provides direction and allocates resources toward the research, design and development of new and improved product lines for all CEC product divisions and their customers. CEC offers a substantial advantage to its customers with in-plant pre-testing to ensure proper operation of its equipment. CEC fully assembles, wires, pipes and pre-tests equipment, which physically allows for pre-testing in our manufacturing area. This confirms proper operation and quality, minimizes any field start-up problems that may arise. Larger systems or equipment requiring product testing prior to shipment can usually be pre-tested for a small additional fee.
