Crozier Machine Tool Company was founded in 1937 with the goal of producing innovative products for the machine tool industry. Many of our products were the first of their kind. We introduced the Speedy polishing Lathe in 1941 to fill the need for a small easy to use machine that occupied a small area and could be operated by semi skilled labor. Since that time thousands have been built to do those small jobs in the garage shops up to series production in large factories. The first series of Speed Lathes were direct drive units with the brake and collet closure built into custom end brackets. These speed lathes were compact units that were rugged and reliable. Even though these speed lathes were superseded by the belt drive units, many thousands are still in use today. It's not unusual for us to hear from customers decades later requesting replacement parts from a machine delivered in the 1950's or 1960's. The Speed Lathe is still one of our best selling products.
