Fair lawn, n. J. — sandvik coromant's corothread 266 is said to allow the ultra-rigid tool to be used in the majority of general threading applications. The new size 16 inserts complement the existing sizes 22 and 27. the corothread 266 integrates sandvik coromant’s unique ilock™ interface, which uses rails and grooves to create a rigid interface between insert and holder. This provides secure insert clamping, combats cutting forces and boosts precision and tool life. In the case of the corothread 266, ilock enables a wide range of thread forms to be completed with greater accuracy in fewer passes.
in addition to the new insert size, the corothread 266 line is also being expanded via the gc1125 insert grade. Gc1125 features a unique composition that offers better heat and wear resistance properties. In threading applications, this allows for higher precision during extended time in a cut, as well as reducing the number of passes necessary to meet required tolerances.
the corothread 266 can be used to achieve high precision and more symmetrical cutting in all industries and across a wide range of materials. The product’s full insert range includes full profile, v-profile and multi-point varieties.
