Low cost, compact speed & direction sensing for power doors. The photo interrupter sensor uses optical sensing technology to provide speed and direction data for power sliding doors and lift gates in automotive applications. Two optical sensors detect a rotating mask, expressing the resulting speed and direction data in a 2-channel binary quadrature output. The D&R design was created to minimize both space and unit cost, resulting in a unit that snap fits into existing door designs without hardware.
