The standard digital travelling microscope used in schools and colleges, offering great accuracy and features to be used in a greater number of experiments. The carriage slides on a cast-iron base. Releasing the carriage locking screws allows free manual movement of the carriages and fine adjustment is made by means of the fine screw thread. The saddle carries the digital reader, which moves over a slide and gives a direct readout of distance traveled in metric or imperial units. The intermediate can be mounted with its axis in any of three positions. The base is fitted with a metal stage plate, which can be removed to allow the microscope to be used as a short range cathetometer. Supplied in a wooden carrying case.
