A versatile and co-ordinated set of kits designed around the curriculum requirements covering the Operational Amplifier and Sensor Applications as detailed in:
AQA GCSE Electronics, AQA A/AS level Electronics, Cambridge A/AS Physics (sensors and op-amps) and Edexcel Higher Nationals in Applied Physics.
The basic kit comprises a clearly laid out PCB fitted with 4mm sockets, a replaceable, split rail op-amp device (LM358), two input control pots, output amplifier stage and sturdy support base all contained within a Gratnells storage tray with lid. The kit includes a comprehensive folder of student worksheets covering all aspects of op-amp d.c. circuitry. Section 1 covers the basic theory and experimentation for all the op-amp circuits. Section 2 covers the theory of sensors and their use with the op-amp circuits. Areas covered are: Potential Divider, LDR, thermistor, LED, Relay, Strain Gauge and Piezo transducers.
The basic kit requires a split rail regulated power supply providing -5V, 0V, +5V and a variety of mounted components, leads, voltmeters and sensors. These can be provided from existing school stock or by purchasing the appropriate add-on kits (see below).
