Stok kangri expedition is one of the easy approach as well as challenging beautiful peak in ladakh. Climbing stok kangri is technically not difficult and no special mountaineering skills is required and it gives real opportunity to climb at 6150 m. Mountain in less than a week days which is not possible in any other part of the world. From the submit we can see the spectacular views of Saser kangri peak in the karakoram range (k2).

  • Total duration : 17nights / 18 days.

Travel days:

  • Day 01: Arrive Delhi. Meet our asstt. and transfer to hotel.
  • Day 02: Delhi to Leh. Fly leh (3500m) and day at leisure for acclimatization. Overnight hotel.
  • Day 03: Leh – visit Shey - Thiksey - Hemis monasteries for full day . Overnight hotel.
  • Day 04: Drive - Lamayuru (3600 mts/11810 ft) via Alchi (15o kms/ 4-5 hrs): In the morning after breakfast drive Lamayuru via Alchi. Visit the oldest Alchi and Lamayuru monastery. Dinner and overnight stay in camp.
  • Day 05: Lamayuru - Wanla over Prinkti la (3800 mts/12465 ft)5 hrs : From lamayuru monastery descend towards the village, cross the stream, ascend gradually upward the Prinkti la (3800 m) descend into the gorge, arrive at shilla, crossing the bridge and reached at Wanla. Overnight stay in camp
  • Day 06: Wanla - Hinju (4 hrs) : Follow Yapola river, reach Hinju village for overnight camp (easy trek).
  • Day 07: Hinju - Sumda over Kongskila (4950 mts/16235 ft) 7 hrs
  • Trek through Hinju village and assent kongskila, long decent to the pasture area. Reach Sumda village for overnight camp.
  • Day 08: Sumda - base of Dundunchenla (4200 mts/13775 ft) about 3 hrs.
  • Day 09: Base - Chilling over Dungdungchanla (4700 mts/15416 ft) about 6 hrs. : 2 hours trek till the pass, after descending the pass south side, slope is steep and continue towards a valley which gets narrower and narrower, in the end it opens out at Chilling. Up to Chilling there is not much of water. Chilling is a village of craftsmen, here peoples work with metals like copper, tin, silver and make chang pots, tea pots, spoons etc.
  • Day 10: Chilling – Shingo (about 5 - 6 hrs) : From Chilling follow the Zanskar river upstream for about half km. Then cross it in a cable car (trolli) the trail leads through Kaya village with slow assending some distance from Kaya joins with Markha village trek. Shingo has only two family. Camp for overnight.
  • Day 11: Shingo – Rumbak via Ganda la pass (4700 mts/15416 ft) 4 hrs
  • Day 12: Rumbak - Stok base (4300 mts/14105 ft) over Stok la (4900 mts /16072 ft) 7 hrs Gandala
  • Day 13 - 15: Climbing stok kangri (6130 mts/20107 ft) : Base camp summit 6150 m - base camp (10-11 hrs climbing) -depending on weather and snow conditions. This is one of the easiest peak declared as trekking peak in Ladakh region, one can climb from lower base directly or well shift the camp to higher base camp. It takes almost 10 hours from base camp to base camp.
  • Day 16: Descend to Stok village about (5 hrs) : In the morning after breakfast trek down to Stok village enroute visit Stok Palace and drive to leh. Overnight hotel.
  • Day 17: Leh : A spare day in Leh for local sightseeing or option to visit khardongla pass (18280 ft. )
  • Day 18: Leh-Delhi : After early breakfast departure transfer to airport. Fly to Delhi. On arrival at Delhi half day guided sightseeing. Evening after farewell dinner departure transfer to international airport for fly out.
