Fuerst Day Lawson is a major toll producer of Sebacic Acid and its downstream products and currently the world's largest exporter of Sebacic Acid handling over 7,000MT per year. We supply via our warehouses around the world – including four stockholding locations in Europe, four locations in the USA and one in China, as well as on a direct delivery basis. Our primary advantage comes from our involvement in Castor Oil as this allows us to accurately predict future price movements as well as reducing risk for our customers.
FDL's lab is equipped with GC equipment and many other analytical techniques, and all batches are tested to ensure satisfactory quality prior to delivery to customers.
We are able to supply both granular and powder material in a variety of packaging sizes from 25kg to 1MT and in packaging materials (PE, PP or Paper) to suit our customers' requirements.
As an example of our service, in December 2007 to January 2008, we actively advised our Sebacic Acid customers to cover their requirements for the first half of 2008 in our monthly market reports. We provided this advice based on our knowledge of the Castor Oil market in India where we predicted further price rises due to the tight supply and demand picture emerging. By April/May 2008, the Sebacic Acid price had increased by over $1,000/MT as Chinese factories ran out of Castor Oil and were forced to buy replacement Oil from India at higher price levels.
