In the early 1920s Anna Gelberg sold her passementeries to Seventh Avenue fashion houses. With her earnings, she bought second hand braiding machines and began making custom trimmings for her clients. In 70 years, Gelberg has seen and been a part of the evolution of the fashion business its growth, recession and revitalization.
