The natural fiber of Allo comes from the bark of giant nettle Girardinia diversifolia and has been extracted for generations in the high mountain region. The Allo plant occurs in most of the high mountain regions of Nepal at the altitude of 1200 and 3000m. It is traditionally woven into cloth in an open back strap loom. Allo thread is knitted into vests, shawls, nets and variety of new products ranging from bags, cushions covers, wallet, and clothing with natural dyes.
Similarly Hemp (sativa) has been used for centuries as a fiber because of its strength and durability. It is an indigenous plant which regenerates quickly after harvesting and does not require any chemical input for its growth or during processing. The Hemp fabric woven and cloth is tailored items of clothing like bags, skirts, trousers, hat, gloves, t-shirts etc. We also produce fabrics of hemp blended with silk, cotton, denim, rayon or allo which is hand knitted as well as stitched into variety of garments. And items like table mats, key chain, footwear etc.
Hemp is natures longest, strongest, most durable fiber. As a fabric it is softer, more insulating, more absorbent, more breathable, and longer lasting than cotton. Hemp fabric is woven and spun from the best fibers surrounding the outside of the stem of the Sativa plant. Hemp is a very eco-friendly product because of its deep tap root.
