In the year 1992, Pakistan, a major grower of cotton, experienced a new textile industry in the shape of cotton sports socks. Around the same time ITAL Sports (Pvt) Ltd., come into being, sponsored by a business family which has been very deeply associated with the cotton industry for the last 35 years both in Pakistan and abroad. ITAL's Pilot project went into production in 1993, knitting socks on 10 Savio Matec DE Machines, to the satisfaction of its European buyers. Since then the project has grown to its present size comprising of 60 machines, both Savio Matec, Conti, N G, Lonatie sports socks machines and 275 Double Cylinder Machines Bentley, Uniplet and E-Model. ITAL intends to grow to a 600 plus socks knitting machines enterprise. "Winning demands perfection". keeping winners in mind, ITAL is playing its part in sports socks now for almost six years. In this short period, ITAL has managed to stand among the leading sports socks producers & exporters in Pakistan. In the year 1998, ITAL produced and exported 1.4 million dozens pairs of socks. Today ITAL clientele includes big names in Finland, Sweden, Norway, England, Belgium, Panama, USA, Australia and New Zealand.
