John Lawrie is the largest and leading metal recycler and exporter of processed scrap metal in the North and North-east of Scotland, with strategically located SEPA licensed waste treatment facilities close to quaysides and offering a full range of services. Handling, processing and exporting around 200,000 tonnes per annum, it is ideally placed to offer metal recycling, deconstruction and recycling/disposal services to the oil and gas market.
With sustainability in mind, the John Lawrie Group has been progressively developing its expertise in the processing and recycling of a range of redundant subsea materials, including flexible risers and flowlines, umbilicals, manifolds, trees, mid water buoys, mooring systems, concrete mattresses, and various associated items.
In line with client and regulatory requirements, its primary objective is to maximise recycling and minimise disposal. To this end it has successfully developed processing methods resulting in high recovery and recycling rates of both the metallic and non-metallic content of flexible risers and flowlines, in a number of cases up to 100%.
