Used in an urban environment, this quick deployment recording system is generally operated from a motor vehicle in order to look at a street scene. The equipment is normally camouflaged in what appears to be a cheap lunchbox simply because such an item is not worth stealing. Even close examination fails to disclose that the 'business end' of the box is constructed from optically corrected plastic allowing the camera to operate very efficiently but still making it invisible to external scrutiny.
The camera is a high-resolution infra-red sensitive device capable of capturing excellent pictures in very poor conditions. It will comfortably read a vehicle's registration plate at 30 to 40 metres.
The system is battery operated and efficient in that it switches 'on' to record automatically when it senses movement. Time and dated recorded video evidence is normally stored on a miniature DVR housed in the same box as the camera, however, there are a number of alternative options available.
Subject to the video recorder chosen, the equipment will also record high quality audio - often useful when evidencing certain types of street crime.
The Street Scene Video System is supplied in accordance with a customer's operational requirements. Options include:-
Change to the camera and lens specifications.
Choice of DVR, miniature DVR or VCR
Remote control if required.
Types of power supply
Variation on concealment (lamppost, factory racking, domestic and commercial furniture, etc.)
