Shrink Fit Ring Heater using a Magneforce Heat Station with an inductor comprised of a coil on a split core. A ring is placed in the center of the core and the core is clamped with an air cylider. Power is initiated and the ring becomes the shorted secondary of a transformer. This arrangement allows the even and efficient heating of a family of rings without the need Forcoil changes.
Prior to the installation of several similar ring heaters at a sheave manufacturing plant rings were placed in an oven in batches which resulted in scale formation and warpage. The fast clean induction ring heating method not only saved energy and time but improved product quality.
