The MDLP2 Video Projector by McIntosh delivers stunning new technologies designed to raise the bar for image quality of single chip designs everywhere. Utilizing a 1080p DarkChip 4 DLP engine, the MDLP2 boasts an incredible contrast ratio of 15,000:1. Additionally, the new Dual Iris Optical System with independent motorized control works to improve response during difficult scene transitions. The DarkChip employed by the MDLP2 is a 16 x 9 device and as such matches the 1920 x 1080 HD picture, pixel by pixel. As a result, 16 x 9 images are displayed at their native rate using 100% of the light engine pixels, allowing pure HD sources to be projected without the need to manipulate the signal in any way resulting in the purest most accurate picture possible. Custom Konica Minolta optics yield a picture which is tightly focused from side to side, top to bottom and out to each corner. Mechanical lens shifting allows for proper image placement with the projector mounted at either the top or bottom of the projected image for the ultimate in flexibility; perfect focus is achieved without the use of clarity robbing keystone adjustments. The MDLP2 is shipped with either the Medium Throw Lens for distance settings of 1.27 through 1.85 times the 16 x 9 screen width, or the Long Throw Lens for distance settings of 1.85 through 2.78 times the 16 x 9 screen width.
