Meaden Screw Machine Products was founded as a joint venture by John A. Meaden and his son John Jr. They began manufacturing in a four car garage on Kedzie Avenue in Chicago in 1939. Soon, the newly formed company became active in manufacturing for the US Government during WWII. This demand for production capacity soon forced the company to seek larger quarters.
