The Melton Air Field was first established in 1969 by the Fogarty family, and operated as a family concern for over 10 years. The airfield was then known as Fogarty Field and from that location the Fogarty family provided services in flight training, charter and aircraft maintenance and acted as sales agents for Fuji aircraft. Melton Air Services commenced operation at the airfield in 1983 and the name was changed to Melton Airfield since the Fogarty family were no longer involved in the business or the airfield The current proprietors are well experienced aviators and have brought a number of additional services to the airfield.
