Azoted ferroalloys are used for:
- leading of N (nitrogen) into steel (azoted chrome and ferrochrome are used for alloy addition of high-chromium stainless steels, azoted manganese and ferrovanadium for melting of low-alloy high-tensile steels, azoted ferrosilicon for alloy addition of electrotechnical and other grades of steel, which contain silicon);
- production of welding and surfacing electrodes, film heaters;
- production of protective and antiwear coatings;
- production of catalysts.
Advantages: suggested technology excludes the application of electrical energy, completely excludes both stock losses and its pollution; nitration is applicable for all traditional ferroalloys, used for alloy addition of steels with nitrogen; activity factor (metal recovery) of nitrogenated alloy increases in 3-5 times.
