Designed for external use, double skinned chutes can be fixed to most types of mid and high rise buildings. They are particularly useful where a chute has to be provided for an existing building where it is not possible to position a chute internally.
Hardall double skinned refuse chutes conform to British Standards BS1703 and BS5906 and are manufactured to the highest quality from either stainless steel, galvanised steel or aluminised steel.
Supplied in circular section with an internal skin diameter of either 450mm, 500mm, 550mm, 600mm and 800mm. A 50mm foil backed fibre glass insulation layer with a corresponding outer skin or cladding of 550, 600, 650, 700 or 900mm diameter.
Another benefit of the double skin chute is the ability to powder coat the outer skin and supporting steelwork to any standard colour from the BS or RAL range, thus giving the designer the opportunity to co-ordinate with other colour schemes on the building exterior.
Each chute is specifically designed using the latest CAD technology to meet customer requirements and to suit the building layout. Generally a typical chute will comprise of two or three sections per floor connected by angle rings or a telescopic joint. The chute can be supported off an external wall or balcony using a special profile plate support bracket located at each floor level.
Hardall SPC hopper doors have a certified 1.5 hour fire rating and smoke seal in accordance with BS476 and BS5588. In addition, an automatic 1 or 2hr fire door located at the base of the chute provides a high level of fire protection.
