Ormsby of Scarisbrick was started on 1st September 1961 by the present Directors John and Philomena Ormsby. There was no showroom, no office staff, only 2 hard working people with 2 small children. The 1st mail shot was despatched in June 1962 followed by a second for Christmas 1962 and a third in time for Easter 1963. A cottage industry for the making of Vestments began.
