Photo Electric Proximity Switches are basically electronic devices which are used to detect the presence or absence of object by using photoelectric receivers. These Photo Electric Proximity Switches are also used detecting the distance. These are widely demanded for industrial manufacturing purposes. These are also known for performing various functions like output switching, amplification and demodulation.
Photo Electric Sensors are used to detect distance, absence or presence of objects using a light transmitter or receiver. These Sensors in general provide all the benefits of fast and non contact detection. Depending upon the function and relative position they are classified in three major types:- Throughbeam, Retroreflective and Diffused type.
Diffused Sensors are very easy to install.These have only one device with emitter and reflector in the same unit and thus operate at close range and can detect even very small objects.When the emitter emits the infrared signal which is reflected from the surface of the object to be sensed and is ultimately received by the receiver and thus change the output signal.These offer optimum switching accuracy and are highly precise.
Retroreflective Sensors are mainly used to detect transparent objects with reliable detection even of reflective objects at long ranges and are easy to install.A reflector is used to reflect the zero diffused beam. When an object comes in between the emitter and reflector, the beam is broken and the output signal will change.
Throughbeam Sensors consist of two parts Emitter and Receiver which are alligned opposite to one another.The light reaches the receiver directly and thus long detection ranges can be achieved. The colour of object, angle of incidence and the surface do not affect the sensing of objects.
