This set of 8 beveled cutters are unique in that the cutting edge is beveled, leaving a beveled edge in the polymer clay that the shape is cut out of. The clay cutters can be used to cut polymer clay that has been run through a pasta machine (that machine should be dedicated to clay thereafter!), and used to cover a formed uncured polymer clay bead. The clay cutters are wonderful for measuring clay (again rolled through a pasta machine) to use to make beads in bead rollers. There is a second set of four cutters. Three of them are 5/32nds of an inch larger than ones in this set of the same shape. Two like shaped cutters can be used together to create frames. Our tutorial showing that can be seen by clicking here. Also you can see elements that were made with the cutter sets on our home page, it is a black and white necklace. There is much fun to be had with either cutter set and twice as much with both! The image shows the cutters still attached to the tree, they snap right off of it.

One free with every order containing one other bead roller in May. Three of these shapes are just 5/32nds of an inch larger than 3 of the shapes in Clay Cutter Set 1. Therefore it will be simpler to create "frames" using these cutters in conjunction with set 1. The largest is a 1-3/8" square. This size is nice for mixing smaller color formulas. i.e. 2 squares of yellow and 1 square of red makes orange. If notes are kept of color formulas, then a color you create can be repeated. I highly recommend that people new to polymer clay experiment with mixing their own colors. Use a smaller cutter to get started if you like, then when you have use for one of your formulas, you can use the larger square to mix your clay formula for a project. I just know I got a great deal of enjoyment making a strand of color formulas. I used magenta, yellow, and cyan, the colors that ink jet printers use to mix colors. Those colors do create a beautiful array of colors that go together so nicely. I overcame some fear of what colors would look good together by creating some color formulas by mixing those three "primaries".
