New uses are still being discovered for this very handy and versatile bead roller tool! Most recently, the Spring of 2009, I discovered that if I clipped four posts off of one side of a tube clay bead roller top, a diagonal flat surface resulted, that is perfect for rolling a cone shape. See our tutorial How to make a teardrop bead. Until recently we had three tube bead roller sets. Now one of the sets has been converted to a Teardrop Bead Shaper.
There are two remaining tubing bead roller sets, each side of each top having posts that roll different diameter tubes. Each base is for marking lines to cut the tubes by and the line impressions are different distances apart on each side. The lines work great to put lined impressions in clay, other than just on tubes! Lines in the shape of squares, rectangles, or diamonds can easily be impressed in clay. All of the parts to this set work interchangeably.
The tube clay bead roller tops are wonderful for rolling cane elements to a specific diameter. It is also a great tool for rolling lentil or even bicone beads. The tops work nicely to flatten beads, a round bead can be made square! An oval bead can be flattened to have four flat surfaces, very handsome indeed! Use our tubing bead roller tops to form a rectangular shaped bead from an oval, and round beads can be squared! Its easy!! I am so pleased with all that the tube bead rollers will do, in addition to rolling tube beads! The tube bead roller top is wonderful for getting small polymer clay canes to the specific diameter of the tube bead roller top. When impressed in flattened clay both vertically and horizontally, the lines left by the base can be cut to measure small amounts of clay. One can truly make very interesting custom jewelry designs with these jewelry making products.
