In 1944 Russell E. Phelon started a company bearing his name, R. E. Phelon Company, Inc., in Springfield, Massachusetts. The company started as a supplier of magnetos to small gasoline engine manufacturers in the United States and has grown to become one of the most recognized and reliable manufactures of ignition systems and engine electronics in the world. For over 60 years, R. E. Phelon Company, Inc. has been developing and manufacturing innovative ignition systems and engine electronics for almost every small gasoline engine application. In 1979, R. This facility initially manufactured the flywheels used on our ignition systems. Today we manufacture aluminum die cast parts for a diverse set of customers in a number of different markets. In 1985, we began electronics manufacturing in the Dominican Republic. The Corporate Headquarters moved to Aiken, SC in 1992. Phelon offers innovative technology, reliable, durable products, and complete system integration for small engines. From product design to manufacturing and assembly, Phelon can help you meet your engine performance specifications and aluminum die cast needs.
