Copper II is a green, paintable wood preservative and water repellent for above ground, exterior use only. It contains 2% copper from Copper Naphthenate and provides permanent protection for wood and canvas against rot and mildew. It is resistant to water making Copper II a good choice for protecting marine lumber. It is not suitable for use on rubber coated fabric.
Copper II has the following advantages:
- Excellent for doors, outdoor furniture, greenhouse lumber, fences, docks, window frames and canvas
- Protects ends of pressure treated lumber
- Suitable for horticultural lumber and flower boxes
Copper II leaves wood or canvas a light green colour, but this colour will fade with time. Apply by brushing or immersing object in solution. Copper II can be painted with any paint without bleeding, except white or very pale pastel shades of paint. If rotting conditions are severe, a second application six hours after the first is recommended.
To assure thorough penetration of Copper II into the wood, make sure the wood is dry and clean and free of any wax, paint or other coatings which could prevent proper penetration.
