Habitat : Native to Asia, probably east India: it now grows wild in the Mediterranean region especially in Spain and Portugal. It is cultivated extensively worldwide in Italy, Sicily, America (California and Florida).
Odour : Alight, fresh, citrus scent.
Part of plant used : Peel of the fruit
Method of extraction : Cold expression from the outer part of the fresh peel and also Steam distillation
Therapeutic indication : Skin Care: Acne, anemia, brittle nails, boils, chilblains, corns, cuts, greasy skin, herpes, insect bites, mouth ulcers, spots, varicose veins and warts.
Circulation, Muscles and Joints: Arthritis, cellulitis, high blood pressure, nose bleeds, obesity(congestion), poorcirculation, rheumatism.
Digestive system: Dyspepsia.
Immune System: Colds, ’Flu, fever and infections.
Mind/Emotions : Great for mental fatigue, clears & stimulates the mind and also uplifting, elevates mind and refreshing thoughts.
Safety Data : Non-toxic, but may cause skin irritation in some. Lemon is also phototoxic and should be avoided prior to exposure to direct sunlight.
