Cogemicanite 504-32-50 Sinterfoil is a laminate consisting of Cogemica mica paper and glass fiber foil, agglomerated with a high heat-resistant binder.
Cogemicanite 504-32-50 Sinterfoil has been developed not so much as coil insulating, but specifically as a wrapping material for crucible formers, and as a protective barrier during the sintering of the crucible obtained by the introduction of molten metal. When the molten metal begins to be poured into the crucible, the Sinterfoil protects the upper part of the liner from radiated heat; in this manner the crucible is sintered progressively and regularly by direct contact with the melt.
The Sinterfoil also protects the compacted but unconsolidated refractory material against deterioration by molten metal projections.

Cogemicanite 504 Combi consists of Cogemica mica paper laminated to a foil made up of ceramic fibers, agglomerated with a high heat-resistant binder.
Because of the presence of the ceramic fiber foil, Cogemicanite 504 Combi reduces heat loss very effectively. Furthermore, because of its high compressibility, it is eminently suitable for creating a barrier absorbing thermal expansion forces.
