A CNC Turret Punch Press is ideal for short to medium production runs. This piece of equipment is a great option in process selection, compared to building hard tooling and stamping parts with a standard punch press. The absence of tool building time, manual labor, and the flexibility to make changes to the design, with minimized consequences, make the CNC Turret Press and easy choice for lower volume requirements. Each Turret Press has a CNC (Computer Numerically Controlled) panel that is used for programming. It’s possible to upload a customer’s electronic CAD file directly into a turret program, and with minimal editing. These tools are great for basic punching, piercing, nibbling, embossing, slotting and recessing, louvering, coining, countersinks, and forming tabs and ribs. In addition, special tooling can be purchased to accomplish even more desired results. Press Brake is used for secondary forming of a punched or laser cut sheet metal blank. An advantage of using a Press Brake for metal forming is the enormous range of work piece size. Most of the tools used in a Press Brake are standard. Almost any part size and formed shape can be accommodated with standard tools. On occasion, some specially shaped tooling may be required, but the costs and lead times are relatively modest. Typically Press Brakes are equipped with some type of back gauging and depth stops.
