The aircraft ground support industry began in 1946 when an airline approached Frank Stinar to perform machining and repair work, and Stinar Corporation was formed. The company started off building the first baggage handling equipment and luggage carts. Next, Stinar mounted lavatory service and potable water carts onto jeeps.
