The Vigor2200 series consists of highly integrated broadband routers with VPN capability targeting SOHO and residential broadband access. The devices not only offer rich functionality with up to 8Mbps bandwidth in downstream, but also a built-in VoIP port to provide a cost-saving alternative to conventional calls. The integrated economical design balances ease of use and secure network management.
Besides powerful firewall protection against malicious Denial of Service attacks, the Vigor2200 series are designed with more advanced security features such as Stateful Packet Inspection to offer network reliability by detecting attacks and prohibiting malicious penetrating packets from entering the internal network. Furthermore, embedded with VPN support for confidential remote access, the Vigor2200 series are equipped with powerful DES and 3DES encryption engines with automated key management via IKE to easily create multiple VPN tunnels.
Combining the Internet telephony service from an ITSP, the Vigor2200 series allow VoIP calls to be made to any legacy phone numbers, including mobile and long distance numbers. By making the most of your broadband, the call will be carried to the destination via Internet so you can save on the telephone bill. When encountering Internet failures, the automatic failover mechanism of the Vigor2200 series will intelligently redirect calls via legacy telephone line. The Vigor2200 series also has the ability to bypass all calls to the telephone line during power cuts to ensure the persistence of an outgoing line.
