COMPANY PROFILE

STS Switchgear is a well known and respected Midlands based company specialising in the design, manufacture and installation/commissioning of Low Voltage Switchboards and Motor Control Centres. STS Switchgear is the consolidation of two independent companies Field and Grant, and Spectar Switchgear. Field and Grant Ltd. was formed in 1947 by two private individuals to design and produce purpose built control panels alongside the promotion of other manufacturing operations.  By the early 1960's Field and Grant had developed their very first Motor Control Centre and grew from strength to strength to become one of the major system suppliers to a range of industries within the UK. Spectar Switchgear Ltd was established in 1966 by two indiviuals to design and build purpose built panels mainly for the power distribution sector.  During this period, Spectar Switchgear has established itself as one of the main contenders within the Switchboard and Packaged Substation supply industry with solutions ranging from simple power distribution boards to highly complex automated systems. Both companies have grown by consistently offering the very highest quality of product and service with a commitment to cost competitive design and manufacture.  This philosophy runs alongside an extensive product portfolio, enabling STS Switchgear to offer products fit for service and perfectly suited to the particular requirements of the client. In 1967 and 1994 respectively, Field and Grant and Spectar Switchgear joined the large Adwest Plc which was the beginning of the consolidation of the two companies.  With the coming together of the two companies and their complimentary product ranges, STS Switchgear is able to provide an even greater offer in terms of total project solution.
