In applications which are by nature stable, then trim control is best maintained using a lambda sensor. While the resolution of this probe over a wide carbon potential range is not acceptable for accurate control, it can be a robust, cost effective solution for an endothermic generator, where the total range is well within the performance capabilities of the sensor. It doesn’t need a reference/burn-off air supply, and will withstand poor quality gas from badly set up gas/air ratios. Our system includes a ball valve for manual isolation of the sample lines for maintenance, and a 40 micron coalescing filter to protect the sensor assembly and sample lines.
