The double-deck DMU developed and manufactured by TRC in 1998 is the first one of its kind in China. It is ideal railway traffic equipment for short-and medium- distance. Advanced technology and subassemblies such as the imported diesel engine, three-phase AC/DC transmission, PLC control system and Siemens DC transmission cabinet were employed. The powered bogie is of privately driven TW160D type; the trailer bogie is of 209 PK type. The streamline profile features beautiful and elegant visual sense. Non-splitting configuration of two motor cars and two trailer cars is preferred. Popular decorating materials are employed to the most extent. The layout of semi-cushioned seats, cushioned seats, semi-cushioned berths and/or cushioned berths shall conform to client’s preference. Plug-sliding door and tightly sealed gangway diaphragm are employed. The DMU is equipped with air-conditioning sets and toilets. Saloon and/or canteen can be considered at the central part of the DMU as the client’s preference.The DMU has upper deck and lower deck. There are stairs between the two decks, the alternative of whether winding shape or reciprocating shape shall conform to the client’s preference. The electric apparatus room, attendant’s room, public address room and toilet are arranged in the four corners respectively. The DMU is equipped with air-conditioning sets so as to provide the passengers with comfortable travelling environment.A series of product of QST 30 from CUMMINS Co., USA are introduced for the power system. Three-phase AC is generated from the main generator via shaft coupling. DC system is composed of transformer and DC transmission cabinet. The DMU running speed can be regulated by adjusting the rotating speed of the traction motor via controlling voltage. The DMU is controlled by PLC and its data is transmitted via 485 bus so that all cars can be synchronously controlled.The powered bogies are of TW 160D type, and trailer bogies of 209 HS type. And all are of non-bolster structure. Air spring directly supports the carbody. Draw bar is of “Z” shape. Longitudinal damper and horizontal damper and anti-hunting vibration damping device are installed. Traction motor is of frame suspended type, and it will drive the wheelsets via the first class gear transmission. The electric connector is of large power type widely used in railway passenger cars. Power is supplied via two circuits. Car end is equipped with communication and control connectors. Tightly sealed gangway diaphragm or rubber diaphragm is employed. Air is supplied for brake system via two pipes. The external paint tone will be as the client’s preference.
