The MPPS is an extremely versatile parachute system, capable of performing many different missions. The parachute system can be jumped by a solo parachutist or by a tandem pair (airborne operator and a non-airborne passenger, MPPS 389 & 424 only), as dictated by the specific mission requirements. Whether used in the solo or Tandem mode, the MPPS is additionally capable of carrying either a soft or rigid equipment container (bundle).
A range of activation systems is available (with or without a drogue stabilizer parachute). This degree of flexibility allows the MPPS system to be used in all jump modes from low altitude jumps with immediate opening to high altitude (stand off) jumps with immediate or delayed opening.
The flexibility of the MPPS offers maximum versatility from a single system, addressing the needs of individual (small unit) operations to mass personnel delivery within a specialized group. Whether delivering a unit for rapid deployment or delivering a (non-airborne) medical expert to a remote site, the MPPS fulfils all airborne personnel delivery requirements.
The MPPS 424 contains two GEMINI 424 canopies, both built to the highest standards and designed for use with All Up Weights (AUW) to a maximum of 300 kg (550 lbs).
