Tools suitable for use on poor heat-conducting materials are characterized by an important feature: they prevent heat development in the grinding process, therefore minimize the thermal load on the workpiece. For ease of identification, such tools are uniformly marked with the suffix ”COOL“ in our product designation system.

For use on poor heat-conducting materials, many new tools based on ceramic grain, a high-performance abrasive, have been included in our range:

The new flexible diamond tools launched by PFERD are perfectly suited for machining hardfacings, built-up welds and coatings, titanium and its alloys, fibre-reinforced plastics, hard metals, or glass. PFERD offers these products in many different versions and grit sizes.

The COMBI CLICK system for fibre discs is truly innovative. Its patented cooling and quick-mounting features are unique in the market. The special geometry of the cooling slots in the backing pad reduces thermal loads on the workpiece and the abrasive tool at the same time.
