equipment cooling air (eca) units are designed to supply conditioned air under controlled flow rates and temperatures to electronic equipment undergoing testing. Eca tests are used to simulate conditions which may be encountered by electrical equipment in actual service. During these tests the air flow and temperature which occur in normal use are reproduced by the eca system.
utilized by the aircraft and defense industries to test airborne electronics under actual usage environments, eca units are used to help ensure these products will not fail in their intended service environment. For example, the high density packaging of electronic components results in a need to provide forced air for cooling purposes. Oftentimes, ecas are used in conjunction with our agree chambers for complete functional and mission profile testingeca performance and delivery ranges include temperatures of -54°c to +85°c against static pressures from 2" to 4" (5. 08 cm to 10. 16 cm) h2o with steady state air temperatures or change rates of 5°c per minute or greater.
