There are two types of plastic materials: thermosetting and thermoplastic. Thermosetting substances, such as polyester, urea and epoxy, can be moulded when heated, but the reaction is accompanied by a chemical change, so the material is permanently hardened and heat-resistant therafter. Thermoplastic substances, such as nylon, acrylic and ABS, can be reheated and reformed.
