Woodlynn was started in 1963 when Lynn Parris, a craftsman hand turner, began making bed legs on a lathe set up under his house. This quickly grew and within 18 months he moved to commercial premises in New Lynn and hired his first staff. The company continued to develop as an industrial turnery supplying turned components to other manufacturers, particularly in the furniture industry.
