Yamato Mfg. Co. was founded 25 yesrs ago as a design firm, specilalized in designing and manufacturing a variety of mechanical equipment by Kaoru Fujji, who before worked as a engineer, designig aircrafts and heavy tankers at a heavy industrial firm. From a turning point in 1980, the firm narrowed its focus to specilaize in noodle processing machines as "udon", white noodle made of wheat flour was the unique product of his home. Kagawa prefecture (japan) and seemed maraketable as evidenced by the number of restaurants that serve noodle (there are more udon restaurants than gas stations).
