Zaklady Azotowe "PULAWY" has been the leader of the Polish fertilizers sector for over forty years. The location of the company in the Central Europe and precisely in the middle east part of Poland has facilitated success of the company both in the demanding market of the European Union and the dynamically developing eastern markets. The company products are also constantly present in the American market. According to recent ratings the company is one of the Polish twenty biggest exporters, almost half of its production is exported. Initially “PULAWY” concentrated on the production of nitrogen fertilizers for agricultural needs, but with the development of the company it systematically increased the production of chemicals. The sale of chemicals currently covers 40% of the overall production and grows successively. One of the priority directions of development was the successive production of melamine. Melamine I installation was launched in 1977. Melamine II was launched in 2001. In 2004 the most recent installation was launched – Melamine III. It has increased the production capacity of Zaklady Azotowe Pulawy with additional 30 thousand tones a year. The work over unique installation for recycling of melamine at Melamine II and III is in progress. At present Zaklady Azotowe Pulawy is the only company in Poland and the third worldwide with the production capacity of 92 thousand tones a year. The company supplies 10% of the world demand and 20% of the European demand for the product. Moreover, the company is the Polish leading producer of caprolactam and nitrogen fertilizers, among others ammonium nitrate and urea. In the American market the best known fertilizer from “PULAWY” is Urea Ammonium Nitrate Solution.
